SEUL

CONTRE

BASSE

Seul Contre Basse

an interactive experience at the crossroad of live music and augmented reality, classical music, electronic music and improvisation.

bass is the wave that we feel, the one that makes us enter into vibration, into resonance with the sound material and music. It is the relation to the earth, to the immense, to what is beyond us. It is also the base of the music, the foundation without which no harmony could be anchored, also rhythmic foundation: the groove, the engine, which awakens our instinct and makes us want to dance. In Seul contre Basse, the double bass is, beyond that, the dual relationship between solitude and the outside world. She is passionate: love and hate, the broken mirror of who we are and who we become. It is the amplifier of our emotions, the tool allowing us to meet others. The tool is technology. The 21st century is marked by the spectacular advance of digital and new technologies: artificial intelligence, augmented reality, immersive experiences, electronic and amplified music. Technology has reversed contemporary social patterns. Does it nourish creativity? Does she bring us closer or, on the contrary, recluse us behind our screens? What part of human remains to us today: what links do we have in contemporary society with the other, with a silent landscape or a show? Seul contre basse deals with these current issues through an unprecedented and immersive experience combining music, video, new technologies, poetry and theater. At the crossroads of the solo recital 2.0 and the installation, the repertoire is very eclectic: improvised music, written music, tradition and modernity (ranging from JS BACH to personal compositions through the world premieres of composers Belgian, French and Swiss). The show can reach everyone - musicians or non-musicians - by universal and contemporary questions that he raises and his reflection on art, philosophy, sociology and science.

The first show of Seul Contre Basse will be a staged, introspective, minimalist concert mixing classical and electronic music.
